Wild Child is designed for kids ages 0-6, though most of our little adventurers are between 1 and 3 years old. But really, all ages benefit, including parents! Younger kids learn so much by watching and playing with the older ones, and the older kids get to be leaders. It sets up an environment for teamwork, communication, and problem solving.

Absolutely! There are benefits to taking your child outside from birth. Little babies learn so much from nature. Additionally, our playgroup is as much for the parents as the kids. It is our goal to create a community to support people through parenthood… outdoors.

Since we are a fully outdoor program, it is crucial to dress yourself and your child appropriately for the weather. We have a guide for dressing for cold weather on our Instagram page with specific gear recommendations.
Bring a water bottle, change of clothes, and a snack. Most kids munch on something during circle time.

Accessibility is crucial to us. The $5 covers art supplies, insurance, and maintenance of The Grove. If you do not have the financial means to attend, reach out to us by email.
-
We meet every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 at The Grove, our lovely outdoor space in Fernwood.
Additionally, we meet at rotating locations around Greater Victoria twice a month on Thursday/Fridays from 10-12. We stick to one location for 1-3 months so children can develop a sense of place and notice the seasonal changes going on around them.
Check out our program pages for all the updated info.

We ask everyone to register (even tiny babies!) for logistical reasons. It’s important that our insurance covers everyone and we have everything we need to keep the group safe. Knowing how many people to expect helps us plan better.

Kids dive into all sorts of fun activities like messy play in the mud, risky play on big rocks, and finding critters in the dirt. We have mud kitchen supplies as well to encourage imagination. Being outside sparks so much creative play and the options for activities are endless. We also have process-based art activities at The Grove.
For younger ones, we have silks and musical instruments to engage their senses, but even just looking up at trees provides babies with so much positive stimulation.

Sorry, but we can’t have dogs at Wild Child events. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. Thanks for understanding!
